The Rig
The Leiv Eiriksson is the ideal rig for the job. It is a 5th generation, dynamically positioned, harsh environment rig which is ideally suited to drilling in Falklands waters. The weather, in general, should not affect the drilling rig due to its size and its ‘state of the art’ station keeping capabilities. It is able to drill in 2300m of water. The water depth at Loligo is 1300-1550m. All the potential well locations lie comfortably within the operating envelope of the drilling unit.
