Work programme 2005/2006
Phase I - 2D Seismic Survey
May 2005

9,450 km 2D seismic survey completed.

Phase I identified a number of promising leads in two distinct provinces from a widely spaced seismic grid.

The survey focused on the 2002 licences in the South.

Geology

The licences cover an unexplored Cretaceous / Tertiary basin. Such types of basins hold the majority of the world's oil and most of them contain oil and gas. In addition, there are up to 10,000 metres of geological sedimentary section which is enough to contain plenty of source rocks, reservoirs and seals.

Phase II - 2D Seismic Survey
May 2006

22,450 km (total) 2D seismic survey completed.

Numerous new leads at several stratigraphic levels (colour coded on map below) had been identified.

In addition, tightly spaced infill seismic data in both the 2002 and 2004 licences have refined the original interpretation and allowed definition of prospect areas and potential hydrocarbon volumes.

Forward Work Programme

Forward Work Programme has been improved to include 2D and CSEM surveys. Further infill seismic in Phase III 2006/7 will determine the final well locations and rank the prospects for drilling.
